The WXR100 can be configured to provide local AAA services to keep local wireless services going, even if the WAN link to the central office fails. It can also offload IEEE 802.1X/EAP authentication processing to reduce the WAN traffic to the central RADIUS servers. The WXR100 wireless switch can be grouped with other 3Com® WLAN switches and controllers to form a single Mobility Domain, sharing a common user database. It provides relaibale connectivity when a user moves from one MAP to another within the domain. The user's details are quickly transferred and the user's session continues uninterrupted. By sharing user-specific security policies between other WLAN controllers and switches, IT staff can consistently enforce user and group attributes as users roam.
